Story of Us Chalkboard

I turned and old picture frames into a story of us blackboard for the wedding! Even lovely BM thought this was very cool :)
I just painted the glass off the picture frame with chalkboard paint and then got to work with a chalkboard marker-i love how it turned out.
 

Confetti match books

 

 

I love confetti! But as we really can only throw organic confetti on the lavender farm i figured that if i wanted to be showered in the stuff on my wedding day then id better provide some for my guests. In addition ive saved every rose lovely BM has ever bought me (never could bring myself to chuck them!) so this seemed like a perfect opportunity to  use them. So i put the rose petals and also some (very local!) lavender in glassine bags, then stapled them to some cute match books i printed up. Im loving making all these little finishing touches for the wedding :)

Cake toppers - crochet hearts

 

More cake toppers! Little crochet hearts (pattern here) stuck on wire, i used a bit if glue to fix them to the wire otherwise they spun round like weather vane!

 

I also remade the wire word cake topper, with long legs to stick it into the cake this time

Heres the whole selection! Well theres actually one more (4 cakes, i know, a bit ridiculous!) but number 4 isnt finished yet - watch this space!

Wire words cake topper

More wedding stuff trialling! Tried my hand at making a wire word cake topper. I love the effect but i forgot to give any of them legs so i can stick it in the cake!! I used 3mm aluminium wire, which is pretty thick and tougher to bend than i thought, so i had to use a pair of needle nose pliers to do most of it. I think i might use slightly thinner wire, 2 or 2.5mm, when i make the final one, so its slightly easier to handle. Just need to decide what style lettering to so, i think the one at the bottom is my fav, love that curly 'e'!

Feather art - watching over you

 

 

I made some more of my watching over you feather pictures, hopefully to sell at a craft market, i did a couple of different colour themes, pale grey and gold letters and then dark grey and metallic silver letters, both work well with the white feathers and frames

Love hearts

I made some quite little fimo (polymer clay) hearts the other day. Just shaped the hearts and then stamped some words on them. You cant really see in the photo (must buy a proper camera!) but the one on the left says 'love' and the on the right says 'for' with 'ever' on the back.

























I then rubbed some ink on the 'love' heart to make the lettering stand out more.

I like how they turned out, might put them on a keyring...

Why is Lovely BM called Lovely BM?

Eye love you card

Lovely BM and I dont do Valentines day but we do try and be nice and treat each other throughout the year. Ive been making lots of pop up cards and moving cards recently, i'll posts some pictures when im done, so i thought id use my new found skill and make him a little card. Its inspired a bit by Indiana Jones, but even BM had to have that link explained to him so maybe its only me that remembers that bit!
