Mini Bunting Cake Topper

Another cake topper! (I'm having multiple wedding cakes)
Isnt it cute! Its just some thick cotton thread sandwiched between triangles, a bit fiddly as theyre so tiny, but well worth the effort. I then split the top 1cm of 2 wooden skewers and slotted the thread in those. Im definitely using this on one of my cakes - yay!

Library Card Pocket Wedding Guest Book

I fell in love with these little library card pockets i found on etsy and knew i needed to use them in the wedding. So i created my guest book around them. There will be a stack of notecards by the book and i want the guests to write a note and then pop it in a pocket. Much cuter (and neater!) than a regular guest book i think :)

Date stamped wrapping paper

I thought id make some date stamped wrapping paper for Christmas this year but the idea would work for any celebration. I just stamped 25 Dec 2013 in star clusters all over some brown paper. It was so easy and looked pretty good, the gold was my favourite :)

Picture Wall Art

These are the other items on the picture wall which i made before i started blogging.

Fabric circles appliqued to some white cotton and tiny hearts punched from a map of our local area

Cute wrapping paper i found in Sydney Australia and a gorgeous silk painting of a boat, a card from many birthdays ago

A beautiful piece of calligraphy given to me by my Aunt, again many years ago and a felt heart i made for lovely BM when we first moved in together

Folder Paper Art

When i saw this wall backdrop from Martha Stewart i loved it but didnt really have a reason to make it. So when i started work on the kitchen picture wall i realised i could make a mini version. Its mounted in a box frame which also helps give the wall a bit of depth. I love the colours i chose and love the fact that you could do it in any colour combination you want.

Laminated Graph Paper Labels

Now im well underway organising my craft room i thought id make some labels for some of the storage boxes. I wanted to use a decorative punch to make the labels are seeing this post at I Heart Organising. I love graph paper and have quite a bit of it so i thought id use that. Paper on its own as too flimsy so i laminated it first and then used a decorative punch to cut out the labels.

I wrote the label in permanent pen and then glued them to the storage boxes. I think they look fab!

I also used my silhouette to cut out some different labels from some leftover red vinyl which i love too but the graph paper in my fav!

Box Dividers from Cereal Boxes

Organising week has shown me that although i was pretty organised, nearly everything already had a place, the organising once stuff was in its designated place was not great! I had a storage box full of my stationery, pens, rulers, glue, notepads etc, which i had to root around in each time i needed something. So, inspired totally by this post at I Heart Organising i decided to tackle the stationery box!

I cut down some cereal boxes id been stockpiling for this purpose and then, using double sized tape, covered them with these fabulous wallpaper samples id had for-ever.
Covering the boxes was bit fiddly, im not the most exact person in the world so some of my wallpaper is a bit wonky but its only for me to see so im not bothered!

Having everything separated out is so much easier and its looks so much prettier!

Music paper/sheet music envelope

My mum is very muscial, theres not many instruments she cant play, so there was always sheet music in the house as a kid. Sadly i didnt inherit her musical abilities but i do have a huge fondness for sheet music. As theres (still) a massive surplus of it at my mums house i though i could make use of it and decided to make envelopes from it.

All you need is an envelope (to use as a template), sheet music, pencil, scissors and some glue

Open out your envelope, lay it on the sheet music and trace around it.

Cut out your envelope shape from the sheet music and then fold it up. Fold in the sides first, then the bottom and glue the bottom flap on top of the side flaps

Fold the top down and either tuck or glue into place

Isnt is cute! I esepcially love that it still has my mum's pencil notes on it :)

Silhouette SD

My new (to me) Silhouette SD turned up last week and i finally got round to having a go with it, and i love it! I'm a proper newbie so ive no idea about what settings to use etc but i did managed to print out a few freezer paper stencils, which is going to make my life so much easier! No more hand cutting stencils for me :) I also imagine i will lose a few hours of my life hunting the internet and pinterest for all kind of die cutting ideas now!

Origami cranes

When i saw this origami crane rainbow on Pinterest i fell in love with it. Now i doubt i'll ever make one (where exactly would that fit in my house!) but i did want to have a go at making some cranes. I followed this fab video on you tubes and theyre really easy. I think there will be a few more paper cranes in my future...

DIY Twist Ties

I love these little diy tie twists over at Organise and Decorate Everything, so i thought id give them a go myself. Its literally garden wire glued between some pretty paper - so simple and really quite attractive. I think i'll make them longer next time though, they were a bit too short to tie round bulky stuff.

Doilie wrapped flowers

I think i mentioned previously that i was my aunts birthdays recently (2 are within a week of each other) so i bought them some irises as a gift. I hate the plastic wrap that flowers normally come in so i wrapped them in brown paper, tucked in a doilie, and tied them with coloured twine. Im so pleased how they turned out, i think all my flowers will be wrapped like this in the future!

Glitter question mark

I love these glazed letters over at iheart2stamp so i thought i give one a go for one aspect of a project i'm working on. I couldnt get a good photo of this to save my life so apologies for that but i am pleased with how it turned out :)
