Origami Foxes and Machine Embroidery Woodland

When i saw this post by How About Orange i knew i needed some origami foxes in my life! The post comes with a free printable background but i knew i wanted something different. So i decided to free hand machine embroider the background woodland scene. I really like how its turned out but i might change the frame its in, its squishing everything too much, but thats a job for the future!

Folder Paper Art

When i saw this wall backdrop from Martha Stewart i loved it but didnt really have a reason to make it. So when i started work on the kitchen picture wall i realised i could make a mini version. Its mounted in a box frame which also helps give the wall a bit of depth. I love the colours i chose and love the fact that you could do it in any colour combination you want.

Origami Bird Papercut

I have been lusting after this gorgeous origami bird papercut by SarahLouiseMatthews on Etsy for months and months and i finally got round to buying it last month. I mounted it over some orange card to make the birds really pop and snapped this quick picture before i hung it. ...Ive actually not got round to hanging it yet, im hoping posting about it will motivate me to finally put it up as its too gorgeous to hide away!

Teabag Boats

I love herbal teas, i dont drink normal tea or coffee but i love chamomile tea and green tea. Herbal teas normally come in a stringed bag and for some reason i always think it would be cute if the string had something attached to it! No idea why, but i thought i give it a go!

So i made some little origami boats from paper

and stapled them to the string.

Then gave them a dunk! Theyre only paper so they went soggy pretty quickly but they were pretty good for a prototype!

Arent they cute!
I'll have to figure out how to make them last a bit longer when wet, possibly use thin plastic instead of paper, but a good first go

Origami cranes

When i saw this origami crane rainbow on Pinterest i fell in love with it. Now i doubt i'll ever make one (where exactly would that fit in my house!) but i did want to have a go at making some cranes. I followed this fab video on you tubes and theyre really easy. I think there will be a few more paper cranes in my future...

Origami boxes

Made some cute tiny origami boxes (tutorial here) from some lovely paper i bought from Shepherds Falkniers book binding shop in London. Bigger sized ones to follow definitely :)
