House number spray paint stencil

We've got tenants moving into out house soon and i wanted to make sure they knew which car parking space was theirs. I figured the easiest way would be to paint the house number on the back wall. Im not very good freehand so i thought spray paint and a stencil may be the safer option!

I just printed out our numbers on to paper, traced them onto transparency paper (i just used some over-head projector paper i had lying around) and then cut the numbers out

I taped the stencil to the wall and sprayed with paint. I only had red, white would probably be better but i didnt want to buy a can specially.

Its probably a bit darker than i would have liked but since im not sure if i was even allowed to do this then its probably a good thing its not too obvious!
You could use this on anything though, its a cute way to personalise stuff.

Stencilled tshirt - internatoinal symbol for list!

Another little stencilled tshirt, i used a noun project symbol again, this time the symbol for a list. Now im a list making kind of girl, lovely BM might even say im obssessed with lists (he has been known to get me to make a list just to calm me down when im getting annoyed!) so i couldnt resist making myself a list tshirt. Im loving neons at the moment too so this was a great oppourtunities to combine two loves!

Cloud stencilled tshirt

I found The Noun Project while pottering around the internet and i love it! Really simple clear symbols for pretty much everything you could ever imagine! I picked this little sunny/cloudy symbol (very British summertime!) to put on a tshirt. I just printed it out, cut out the shape and painted it with fabric paint. Really easy way to brighten up a plain white t-shirt :)

Silhouette SD

My new (to me) Silhouette SD turned up last week and i finally got round to having a go with it, and i love it! I'm a proper newbie so ive no idea about what settings to use etc but i did managed to print out a few freezer paper stencils, which is going to make my life so much easier! No more hand cutting stencils for me :) I also imagine i will lose a few hours of my life hunting the internet and pinterest for all kind of die cutting ideas now!

Stencilled Tote Bags

I had some fabric shopping bags hanging around the house so i thought i'd stencil then with some phrases.
Ive seen these 'big book' bags around, i think a book shop uses the slogan on their bags, and i couldnt resist using it, makes me laugh everything i see it!

I'm also a bit addicted to Guacamole at the moment (Jamie Oliver's recipe is my fav) and, as im constantly buying the same ingredients, i thought id make myself a little shopping bag for them!

Freezer paper stencil box

 
Personalise your packaging using a freezer paper stencil
Freezer paper can be bought online or in most craft stores, it has a waxy coating on one side which allows you fix the stencil in place by ironing it

What you need:
Freezer paper
Scissors/punch
Iron
Paint
Paint brush
Test you paint on an inconspicuous area first to check it doesn’t bleed too much, thicker paint works better than runny/watery paint

Cut out your design using scissors or make it even simpler and buy a pretty punch to use instead

Using an iron on a low heat, fix you stencil, wax side down to your packaging

Paint your stencil
Top tip - only use a small amount of paint to prevent any bleeding under the stencil, if the effect isn’t dark enough apply multiple coats, waiting for the paint to dry between coats

Allow to dry before peeling off the freezer paper

Freezer paper stencil tshirts

  

I made some cute little stencilled tshirts using freezer paper and fabric paint at the weekend
I just printed an outline on the freezer paper with my regular injet printer and cut it out. I then ironed the freezer paper, waxy side down, onto the tshirt. I painted the stencil useing screen printing paint, waited for it to dry and then peeled off the stencil. I ironed it afterward to set it but check your paint instructions for how to fix it
Theres some great silhouette clip art available on the internet to use if your rubbish at drawing like me!
