Wedding Card Trunk

While Lovely BM is off on his stag do i cracked on with wedding stuff! I spotted my Dad's old boarding school tuck box (off of Enid Blyton!) a little while ago and knew i wanted to use it at the wedding. I was going to line all the sides with fabric but i quite liked some of the ink stains so i decided to leave them uncovered.
I just cut a piece of thick mount board the same size as the bottom and covered it with some cute purple flower fabric i already had and popped it in the bottom.

Then i made a really simple card banner for the top. I just cut the letters out of grey card, glued them to peach and lilac rectangles and then pegged them to some string. I juts draped that over the top and fixed it with a bit of tape - so easy and so cute!

Caramel stuffed choc chip cookies

Nom! I made two types of caramel stuffed chocolate chip cookies this weekend. They were gifts and to be honest they nearly didnt make it to their recipients!

I used my go to two twenty one recipe for the regular choc chip cookies and just stuffed a caramel button in the middle - so good!

The double choc chip ones are a recipe from top with cinnamon. These inspired the whole baking episode and they didnt disappoint!

I popped then in a little tub and tied it all up with ribbon and (reluctantly) gifted them out

Fabric wine bags

Lovely BM and i have received lots of 'congratulations on your engagement' bottles of bubbly recently and i always try to keep and recycle the gift bags they come in. So i thought why couldnt you also make wine bottle gifts bags from fabric to make them truly recyclable! I think the hessian ones are fab but the stripey ones are my fave, its a great way to use up your stash too

Crochet present birthday cards

Ive been making these for years but this is the first time ive crocheted them, normally theyre knitted. Crochet us so much quicker so i think i love these even more than the originals! Ive run out of people to give them too as theyve all already had one for a previous birthday!

Date stamped wrapping paper

I thought id make some date stamped wrapping paper for Christmas this year but the idea would work for any celebration. I just stamped 25 Dec 2013 in star clusters all over some brown paper. It was so easy and looked pretty good, the gold was my favourite :)

The bread, the carrot and the orange patterns are from pierrot yarns.
The egg pattern is from monstercrochet
The ice cream pattern is from bruised weasel

Gold leaf terracotta pots

I made my future mother in law some little knitted cactii (pics coming soon) and they needed some gorgeous pots to go in. So i bought some mini terracotta pots from ebay and glammed them up with some rustic gold leaf. I love the effect :)

Add Ribbon Handles to Gift Bags

I saw this post about DIY gift bags at Thrify Fun ages ago and wanted to make my own at Christmas but didnt have time, but a recent glut of birthdays and other events meant i needed a few nice gift bags so i finally did it, well part of it... I didnt make the bags myself, i bought cheap ones and then changed the handles for pretty ribbon ones, but i think it works really well, no chance of anyone else having the same wrapping as you too!

More zips! Leather this time

Yet more zips! Yes i know its becoming a problem... but these are leather! Well two of them are, the other is my favourite day of the dead skulls fabric
I went on a Leather purse workshop at The Make Lounge earlier in the year and finally made a trip to a leather supplier in London and got this gorgeous camel napa leather. Combine that with my recent zip obsession and obviously i was going to make little purses with it!
Napa leather is the thinnest kind and you can easily sew it on a regular sewing making. I love how they turned out, some will soon be gifted away i imagine!

Mushroon Jam Jars

I saw these adorable little mushroom jam jars on Pinterest and could resist making my own, especially since i have some red spray paint ready to go

First off i sprayed the lids with a few coats of red, propped up on cut down toilet roll tubes so i could do the sides. I let them dry over night.

Then i drew little white spots on them with a white marker pen and they were finished :)
So easy and I think theyre really cute, possibly going to give them as Christmas presents with little treats inside...

Ring of fire board game art

This week really is turning into the labour of love week! This is the project ive been making my teeny tiny things for recently. Its a piece of art/board game that ive made for my and lovely BMs friends. Its based around a drinking game we've played too many times to count over the years called ring of fire and it basically spells out the rules of the game, in cute teeny tiny fashion! Its taken me since before i began this blog to create so its been a proper labour of love! I havent given it to them yet (they dont read this blog so i havent given it away!) and i cant wait to see their faces when i do :)
