Embroidery Wool Storage with Pegs

Organising week is in full swing! First off i wanted to organise my supplies themselves better, then once thats done i'll look at the overall set up of everything.
First up - embroidery wool.

This is how my wool currently lives, it totally puts me off doing any embroidery immediately :(
Ive seen lots of people use pegs to wind their thread/wool onto so i thought id give that a go.

 
Does it look gorgeous now! Its such am improvement, easy to find the colour, easy to use, easy to store and looks pretty cute too! The pegs are pretty sturdy soi think they'll just live in a box all together.

Organising Fortnight (ish)

So, lovely BM and i moved house in March and we were unpacked and organised in record time but then it just tailed off. All the big things, the important things and even the medium and small things got done but all those tiny touches that need doing to make you house look nicer got put off and put off. So im dedicating the next fortnight (ish) to me sorting it all out! The ish is because everything always takes longer than i think it does....
The main area i want to sort out is my craft room.




Everything is pretty organised but its just not pretty or inviting at the moment. Especially since lovely BM has moved in and made it his temporary study until his fitted study is built. So i want to make it more welcoming and make the storage more efficient and defintely more pretty.
I also plan to sort out the bathroom storage and maybe some of the kitchen cupboards but we'll see how i get on with the craft room first!

Bacon Sandwich Lattice

Ive seen these bacon lattices all over the internet so i knew i had to have a go, and lovely BM is never one to turn down a bacon sandwich, especially in the interests of my blogging!

 I just lay the bacon over and under each other when it was raw, baked it in the oven until it was crispy and the devoured it! They were so good :) but honestly when isnt a bacon sandwich good!

Add Ribbon Handles to Gift Bags

 

I saw this post about DIY gift bags at Thrify Fun ages ago and wanted to make my own at Christmas but didnt have time, but a recent glut of birthdays and other events meant i needed a few nice gift bags so i finally did it, well part of it... I didnt make the bags myself, i bought cheap ones and then changed the handles for pretty ribbon ones, but i think it works really well, no chance of anyone else having the same wrapping as you too!

Washi Tape Cord

 

Im forever getting mixed up which iphone cord is mine, at home, at work, everyone seems to have an i-something and the associated charger and cable! So when i saw this cord makeover at Makezine i know it was the perfect solution, and isnt it so much cuter now!

Avocado and Feta on toast

I first had this in Australia earlier in the year and have been meaning to recreate it at home. Its just mashed avocado on buttered toast with feta crumbled on the top but i finally made it last weekend - it was just as good as i remembered, i couldnt even wait until after the photo to take my first bite :)

Out of the Office

Sorry for the lack of blogging but lovely BM and I decided to take a last minute break and go to Tunisia :)

Cottage pie stuffed jacket potatoes

More food! Can you tell how much i love my new kitchen from all the recipes ive been trying!

These are just a-mazing, scooped out jacket potatoes filled with cottage pie filling and topped with their fluffy insides mixed with garlic and herb soft cheese - what is not to like!

Pasta Alla Genovese

Nice summery plate of pasta :) Its Nigella's Pasta Alla Genovese - it was nice but maybe just too many green things for me, always makes things a bit bitter imo. Add some bacon though and we'd be friends for ever!

Felt Garlands

I made some felt garland decorations for Lovely BM's birthday party. Theyre based on these over at Purl Bee but i wanted them much more open and loose than theirs.

I made one with squares

And one with circles (ignore the snake tanks in the background please and focus on the cute little garland!!)
I love the circle one especially, i'm definitely making some more. In fact i dont think im even going to take these down even now the parties long finished, i like them too much!

Salted Caramel Brownies

I think the title says it all really, combining deliciousness with deliciousness makes something off the scale of delicious! The recipe is by smitten kitchen , who never fails to impress me with her amazing food :)

(I think the picture below demonstrates how yummy they were, we even scraped the greasproof paper clean, and may have ripped the middle of it in our enthusiasm!!)
